These are misfit children looking for meaning in their underachieving lives. But they can't handle the requirements for being conservative, or even independent thinkers. Modern progressivism is so much easier, and it requires little in the way of accepted ethics, traditional morals, or respect. Here are a few truths:

Equality challenges power, and equity protects it.

The left’s goal is to make people live in fear.

No matter how exhaustively you pander to them, they still won't respect you.

That is an EXCELLENT line Phillip: "Equality challenges power, and equity protects it." !!

I'm going to use that!

I don't think there are many college students over the past 20 years that understand what this statement means.

Agree with you, Glenn. These "protests" ARE showing the dismal state of post-secondary education, such as it is. I graduated at 38 from Saint Louis University in 1992 and am glad that I didn't have to endure the nonsense now ascendant on our once great colleges and universities. The cowardly administrators and the Marxist professoriate have made a hash of the entire system.

Remember back some fifteen years ago … when Barack Obama’s Jew-hating preacher Jeremiah Wright was publicly exposed for egging on the September 11, 2001 terror attacks and describing the attacks as America’s “chickens coming home to roost.”

https://youtu.be/Vy6lFFaX0nQ

Well by Obama’s preacher’s standard … sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander, as the adage goes.

The Democrats’ Dearborn and anti-Semitic chickens are apparently coming home to roost, to blue state America.

Bask in it, blue states and commie-infused campuses … you’ve earned it all in spades.

All these elitist university uprisings ought to be the final nails in the coffin for student loan forgiveness … America’s silent majority will have nothing to do with this vote pandering scam.

I'm with you, Glenn. So much for "safe spaces", right? Elite academia which has been living off of its former reputation for decades has finally and irredeemably destroyed their brand. They've now exposed themselves as the greedy, hypocritical, money-laundering indoctrination apparatus of the far-left that we've known they were for generations.

Even rank-and-file Democrats can't help but see the fraud, especially those with kids who were more than qualified but passed over because the slots were all taken by ideologically conforming DEI applicants or by the friends-and-family of the well-connected.

And few buy the "There's nothing we can do about it - it's 'free speech'" excuse from the administrators. Everyone knows that if these kids were part of any conservative cause, they would have had the quads cleared of the miscreants before they would be able to gather. The inescapable conclusion is that this behavior is tolerated because the administration and a large swath of the faculty are sympathetic with the cause, and/or afraid of what would happen to them if they were to actually be the adults that they're supposedly paid to be and stood up to the madness. There seems to few adults left in academia to say "No".

John: from my limited viewpoint in the late '60s, there are some profs---usually in the sciences, but, in the Vietnam conflict years, in addition to the science profs, they were joined by the history dept, and, of all things, the music profs. Those anti-war folks were the usual cadre: poli-sci, and other depts were your degree was as good as Charmin.

True, John, but I DO remember telling some of them that they will change their tune as soon as they get a REAL job, and that ended up being true. But that was then, and even the liberal most of the liberal arts college I went to STILL wanted to make money!

Once again, your post reflects my own opinions about this subject. But let us stop to consider what kind of political party is composed of "Hamas supporters." I have long believed that the democrat party changed into the democrat socialists in the 60's through the 80's, but with each passing year it has become more and more anti-American as more and more anti-Americans joined and ascended to positions of leadership. Today, that party is intent on destroying all that came before it, sweeping it away in a marxist dialectical fury, which is precisely why they attract the muslims who have become emboldened by the abdication of all responsibility for good social order that democrats implement as soon as they are elected, proving the truth of Conquest's Second Law of Politics. And what else, besides this Jew hatred unites the democrat party? Abortion. The act of killing an unborn baby.

So, it's Hamas and abortion that the democrats are relying on to win in 2024. Anyone who belongs to the democrat party or votes for democrat politicians is complicit in the destruction of our country and should be treated as a co-conspirator in that enterprise. Shunning is the least the rest of us can do. No right-thinking American can or should remain friends with any democrat; they have become our mortal enemies.

I'm with you for both reasons. College isn't all it's cracked up to be (probably; I always said I was smart enough not to go to college), and I enjoy seeing Democrats placed in the position they've placed themselves in. It's all about "identity politics," "oppressors" and the "oppressed."

I think the DNC convention in Chicago is going to be a hoot with a big chunk of their party displaying their Nazism.

Regarding the DNC convention, history may indeed rhyme. In 1968 Mark Rudd and the SDS seized Columbia’s Low Library, and then we had the Seige of Chicago. And, lo, the nation subsequently elected a rather good president named Richard Nixon.

Richard Nixon was an excellent president in all respects, except a couple of idiotic mistakes that produced a generation of democratic rule. We're still suffering the consequences. I'm not being sarcastic.

Indeed, Watergate was not a "good look," even though it was basically "oppo research." Years later, I remember Schumer (never met a camera he didn't like) gloating over the fact that his dem ops managed to hack into the RNC accounts, essentially committing the same crime, sans "boots on the ground!" Nothing happened, of course!

I'm not sure I understand the difference. Maybe both? Not everyone calling to wipe out the Jewish people are Islamic; they just side with them.

Correct, not all who are antisemites are muslim. Some are also fascists (like the nazis) hence the term 'islamo-fascism'. It is also described as the 'red-green alliance', red for the fascists and green for the islamists. Of course if the islamo-fascists ever achieve their goal of killing all of their mutual enemies then they will turn on each other until one is wiped out.

We are never surprised by the excellence of Glenn Beaton's production! And this column about the robotic, unthinking, ignorant, gullible people whom the mohammedan dogs have managed to recruit, with the use of subterfuge and outright lies, not to mention $$$$, that is, payment for the presence of their bodies and voices.

Glenn, the line in the sand these administrators have drawn for the terrorist sympathizers to go tells me all I need to know. None of these valedictorians fear reprisals since there are no real consequences to their behavior. Even in Texas, after 60 plus were arrested last week, 57 were released after 90 minutes-no charges.

I would blockade them. No in. No out. Give them what they want. Maybe throw in some bananas for good measure. We would see how long they last.

And take that pally student on a visa who spoke at Columbia yesterday and send him back home. Sorry, guess I’m too old school to have patience for this childish behavior.
