I've never understood why the press is given immunity to blab about the nation's secrets when anyone else would be severely punished for doing the same. I do not believe the First Amendment confers this as a civil right that only news publishers hold. They couldn't get away with doing this with any other stolen material.

It's one of those slippery slopes.

I don't think so. If the newspaper was knowingly using stolen printing equipment, they would be charged with something along the lines of receiving stolen goods or conspiracy to grand larceny.

Theft isn't a 1st amendment right based on my interpretation.

I agree, but the lame stream media will weasel out of any repercussions, because we are actually NOT in a war yet, so they can say they aren't being treasonous!

If the commie news network wasn't shown in all airports, would they have any viewers? Disclaimer - I haven't flown in several years.

I don't either, but I did read a couple years ago that CNN did not renew their contract. I'm off to WY in a few weeks with an update.

CNN addicts believe CNN "reporters". Believing CNN should be classified as a mental illness by now.

Some people get their news by watching Christiane Maria Heideh Amanpour CBE, a British-Iranian journalist and television host. Amanpour is the Chief International Anchor for CNN and host of CNN International's nightly interview program Amanpour. Until Christiane climbs down into the craters and reports back to me, I ain't believin nothin.

"Meanwhile, Iran has congratulated itself on its “decisive victory.” The Ayatollah proclaimed that Israel has “almost collapsed and been crushed” and America has been delivered “a slap in the face.”

I think I know this one. Is it the one where they demolished the other fellow's fist by repeatedly hitting it with their face?

The media lie and distort if it serves their purpose of showing Trump in a negative light.

Truth is an inconvenience and secondary to them.

An alternate explanation is that the Deep State is crying, "No, no, there's still a nuclear threat! Please don't cut our funding."

These guys are craven.

The leaker should be set up as an example and get frog-marched out of their cushy government job. Until we bring retribution, the subversives will just keep on keeping on.

Glenn: I've read that the FBI and CIA are purportedly looking into this "leak." Do you think that actions like this will ever be held accountable? God knows there are actual federal laws on the books that are to prevent all this.

People do get prosecuted for leaking classified information. The DOJ and FBI are investigating, and I would not be surprised to see indictments. Note that they have the authority to ask government employees to take lie detector tests. Although not admissible in court, the tests can be very revealing -- and almost as revealing if people refuse to take the test.

CNN is a different story. I doubt they'll be prosecuted. For those interested in the law on the subject, the landmark case is the Pentagon Papers case, New York Times v. United States.

Thanks, Glenn--I remember the Pentagon Papers. I would HOPE that somehow, CNN is mightily embarrassed by the Govt. and everybody would officially know that they are a worthless organization. Right now, only half the country does.

"Why do the media ... distort or even lie about facts"

Easy answer: because they aren't media companies. They are leftist activists masquerading as media companies.

“Why do the media …lie?” Because the Left craves power above all else, and they think damaging Trump will help them get it. They hate him more than they love America, and they’re fine with the collateral damage to the country.
