Your correspondent has reviewed a memo labelled “For Internal Distribution Only” from the CEO of the company that owns and operates the skiing operations at Aspen and Snowmass (referred to locally as “SkiCo”).
Some people (i.e. Democrats) believe that democracy does not mean majority rule. For them, it means "do things our way," even without the approval of the majority. I worry about some of the things that Trump said during the campaign, but I am confident that our government system of checks and balances is resilient. It was the Democrats who campaigned with the threat of abolishing those checks and balances.
I’d love for ALL brilliant, or at least NON-woke lawyers all across America to link arms with the Trump administration to root out - legally - any conduct that violates any laws anywhere.
Just because DJT won don’t think for a second that the left isn’t still coming for you and me, as they always have been doing, and DJT has just been standing in their way.
This isn’t the end of the fight, as much as WE’d all love for it to be.
Let’s see what tomfoolery they hatch between now and Jan 6 and Jan 20.
Just to be fair, if SkiCo is going to have Gay Ski Week and BLM Ski Week (or whatever they call it), shouldn’t there be Republican Ski Week? After all, who’s going to liberate SkiCo’s serfs with tax-exempt tip income?
Good comment. In the 1970's and 1980's I could afford Aspen; now not so much. I haven't been to Aspen for at least two years, its only eighteen miles away, but merchandise and services are available and cheaper downvalley.
It may be worth emailing jhanle@aspensnowmass.com (their comms director, with an extensive far-left X/Twitter posting history - https://x.com/jhanle - ). I asked to see if he could clarify if Conservatives customers and Conservative employees will be treated fairly and equitably at SkiCo resorts.
That sounds downright right-wing conservative, which they know they are not which is why they need to pronounce it.
But no "equity"? Where did that shibboleth of the left go? Because I can't afford a home at Aspen, nor could I afford to ski there very much. Certainly no equity in that, but its no surprise that SkiCo would leave that one out. I have no doubt that they don't want my kind (sub-billionaire deplorable class) spoiling their hill.
As for "democracy", you just saw it happen a week ago. So it's hard to take his position seriously on that.
I'm an avid skier who will likely be out for the first of this season this week. One thing I can say for certain is that it won't be at Aspen.
It's been a while (30 years) since I skied Colorado. The direct personal slam by Aspen Ski Co against the majority of voters in the country, might warrant that skiers find a more welcoming venue elsewhere. I wonder how many American citizens will fail to obtain jobs on Aspen slopes due to the "low dollar illegal immigrant wages now payable at Aspen? If anyone wants to take a stand, maybe try Vail around the corner or 40 others in Vail's company.
You teed it up, so I’ll feel free to take a swing. SkiCo’s very existence depends on it, so of course they have every right to opine on the gravity of the situation. (I’ll show myself out.)
I can't wait for Unilever (parent company) to call on its ice cream engineers to come up with their next "RESISTANCE" Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor in honor of the 47th U.S. President. I remember Ben & Jerry's “Pecan Resist” flavor ice cream to honor all who are fighting #45 President Trump. They can't help themselves.
The moral vanity of the left is what makes them intolerant and intolerable.
This CEO's memo should get wide distribution and attention.
Which raises the question, who’s the enemy within who leaked this memo to the abominable Beaton? 😁

Sounds like he is all in for housing undoc immigrants - at his facility.

I’d like to withhold my money from this business but let’s be honest I can’t afford Aspen. 🤣

Great article Glenn, I'm a follower now!
Few understand Aspen better than Glenn Beaton, Trey Parker, and Matt Stone.
[see South Park episode titled ‘Asspen’]
“Equality, democracy, civility, compassion, tolerance, sustainability, open-mindedness, gratitude, freedom, integrity, and justice.”

I'll show them. One day, when I get the money to afford to go to Aspen I won't go. One day....
We all hope that day comes along sooner than later.
