What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger
— Friedrich Nietzsche, tormented soul
Back in the 2016 election, Donald Trump was a bit of a joke. He was a flamboyant, pussy-grabbing, orange-haired, reality show-hosting, real estate tycoon with improbable aspirations to be President of the United States. Just before the election, the New York Times gave him about a 4% chance of winning.
Assigning those odds was not just the Times’ effort to inform their readers. It was also an effort to crush him. They came not just to condemn Trump, but to bury him.
Imagine their chagrin when Trump proved them wrong. Imagine, too, the chagrin of Hillary Clinton and the rest of the establishment.
In discerning their chagrin, you don’t actually need to use your imagination at all. We saw it. They blocked Trump’s every effort at governance with dishonest smears like the Russian collusion hoax, two impeachments, and the pee-pee dossier. In their effort to prevent Trump from governing the country effectively, they were willing to prevent him from governing the country at all – the country be damned.
But the attacks on Trump in his first term didn’t kill him; they only made his stronger. He found a way to govern the country, and he did it effectively. A good example is his nomination of three conservative Supreme Court Justices, every one of which he successfully got confirmed by the insiders of the world’s most exclusive club – the United States Senate.
Americans today give Trump’s presidency higher marks than they give Joe Biden’s, and in the most important issues like the economy, immigration and foreign affairs, they prefer Trump. That’s why he’s leading in the polls (that, and the fact that his opponent is a senile dolt).
In the 2020 election, the establishment pulled out the stops to prevent Trump’s reelection. With a combination of a little election fraud, a lot of election shortcutting in the form of relaxed vote-by-mail rules enacted under the cover of COVID, the Democrats’ undemocratic kneecapping of Bernie Sanders, and a ton of media bias, they narrowly defeated Trump.
His 2020 loss didn’t kill Trump; it only made him stronger. He didn’t get the memo that he was supposed to retire to Mar-a-Lago and play golf. He instead started campaigning for the 2024 election.
Again chagrined, the Democrats decided to declare “lawfare” against Trump. They filed a series of bogus criminal and civil cases against him. They aimed to discredit him by labeling him a “convicted felon.”
The lawfare didn’t kill Trump; it only made him stronger. He fought and largely won. The Supreme Court has thrown out most of the charges against him. Democrat incompetence has undermined most of the rest. The American people see the lawfare for the corrupt scheme that it is, and Trump’s fight as the righteous one that it is. He’s gone up in the polls.
And this time, he shows a discipline that he’d never shown in 2016. He more often thinks and takes advice before he opens his mouth. He’s stronger.
A good example is his handling of the Democrat civil war over Biden’s candidacy. It must be tempting for Trump to pour gasoline on the self-immolating Democrats, but he’s mostly smart enough to let them do it themselves.
Leftists are by nature authoritarians. See, e.g., Stalin, Joseph; Zedong, Mao; Pot, Pol. That is why they’re so quick to label anyone who disagrees with them a “fascist.” It’s projection in combination with authoritarian shout-down.
And so, the leftists – all of whom are Democrats (though not all Democrats are leftists) – have always alluded to violence against Trump. A two-bit comedienne depicted herself with Trump’s severed head. A theater depicted Trump in the role of assassinated Caesar. Just last week, Joe Biden told donors in a conference call that it was time to “put Trump in the bullseye.”
Yesterday, someone did exactly that.
Fortunately for Trump, his supporters, the country and the world, and unfortunately for Democrats, the someone missed Trump’s head by a half-inch. The high-powered hollow point bullet merely took off the top of Trump’s ear (though sadly it instantly killed the man behind him).
As always, this assassination attempt didn’t kill Trump; it only made him stronger. He fell, but with Secret Service assistance quickly stood back up, blood streaming down his face, fists pumping the air defiantly.
Somewhere in hell, Nietzsche must be smiling.
The hard-left of the Democrats are currently circulating a crazy theory that the Trump campaign staged the whole thing.
Uh huh. They decided to shoot Trump in the ear from 130 yards in order to generate sympathy for their candidate but not hit his head 1/2" away which would have killed their candidate. And to make that incredible marksman trick-shot, they found a 20-year-old scuzzball with no formal firearms training.
These conspiracy theorists are some combination of evil and stupid. (Bear that in mind next time you hear conspiracy theories on the Right as well.)
Yes … Nietzsche is in Hell, as he was the nihilistic philosopher who proclaimed “God is dead” and whose ideas later served as foundation blocks for Germany’s National Socialism from the 1920s - 1945.
The Left, and this includes the DNC and all of its acolytes, as well as academia, the MSM, Big Tech, the creepy Davos globalists, teachers’ unions, government at all levels, and of course those purple-haired Munchausen moms who puberty block their fatherless kids while screaming for LGBTQ?!$%+ “rights” for kids who do not know better, have all been bitten by the authoritarian bug. There’s an adage that goes something like … scratch a leftist and out comes totalitarian blood.
I’ve briefly wandered into a few of the leftist fever swamps on social media, and there are now conspiracy theories from the left that this assassination attempt on DJT was staged. “Reichstag Fire” is apparently trending as a hashtag and search term, while some leftwing armchair “analysts” are suggesting that DJT self-inflicted the wound to his ear (it’s an old WWF stage trick, ya know, and Trump is tight with the pro-wrestling crowd.)
While some folks, even including some of our very own on the right, might suggest that such events portend to the Apocalypse, I would gently say that the term apocalypse doesn’t always have bad connotations. As imperfect as he is (and aren’t we all imperfect too?) DJT has exposed the dirty underside of our political and social institutions through his sheer willingness to stand his ground when it comes to our basic American principles, as well as remain absolutely defiant against the leftist machine that has been working overtime against him, and us too, for the better part of a decade.
Even this assassination attempt against DJT has been a revelation (not necessarily the Book of Revelations, but a revelation still) as to the gross incompetence of the Secret Service … who performed the site surveys at Butler? How did a shooter get within 150 yards of a major presidential campaign event? Why do those three DEI female “agents” around DJT look so reminiscent of the olde timey Keystone Cops silent comedies from a century ago? Is modern day progressivism so progressive that we have actually regressed back to the early 20th century in many ways?
That comes back to one last thing, totalitarianism in general, and fascism more specifically. Over a century ago tyranny began its 20th century march with the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia, and then shortly afterwards, the rise of Mussolini’s Fascism when he and his blackshirt squadristi marched on Rome and just took over the government.
While the term fascism remains a very toxic word among polite society, as it ranks down there with racism, rapists, pedophilia and cannibalism, what the modern day progressive left is actually practicing and advocating for is indeed a newly constructed form of fascism. It’s still okay to be a socialist or even a communist in high society get togethers in places like Davos. After all, I’m certain that the top ranking ChiComs are always welcomed with open arms at these incestuous soirées.
But get labeled with the term fascist and you are dead to the world … at least their world. Yet, when government agencies like the FBI, Homeland Security, the CDC, and others collude with the Democrat Party, billion dollar pharmaceutical corporations, the MSM, Big Tech, academia, labor unions, and a myriad of society’s other institutions, and they are all on the same message operating lockstep and synchronized, what can you call all of this but fascism?
Perhaps the only difference from fascism of a century ago and today, is that 20th century fascism included a focus on national or even racial identity (i.e., Nazism,) while today’s neo-fascism has a globalist tweak to it. Just look at the agendas and future plans coming out of the ivory tower sewers like Davos, Brussels, and the U.N., and this becomes all the more apparent.
Fascism and Communism are and have long been two sides of the same totalitarian coin. They share more in common with each other than their differences … and both ideologies are and always have been leftwing in nature. Fascism is just slightly to the right of communism, and as such the left dishonestly brands conservatives, constitutionalists, Christians, Jews, libertarians and other individual freedom loving patriots as “fascists.” This has been a slander and lie for so long, yet very few ever make mention of it.
The simple truth is fascism is BIG government … high taxes, a hatred of free-market captalism, an antipathy towards religion and the belief in God (worship the State, ya know,) a total prohibition against private gun ownership, speech codes, a twisted fetish for burdensome regulations, red tape and diktats, and a strong aversion to individual freedom, autonomy and free agency. Does any of this sound like the conservative political agenda coming out of the GOP or from conservative think tanks like the Hoover Institute or the Manhattan Institute?
Compare and contrast this week’s RNC platform at their convention in Milwaukee to Il Duce’s fascist manifesto and then it becomes quite evident that fascism is indeed a leftwing ideology … Mussolini’s manifesto is big government on steroids. It only differs from Lenin’s Communism in that Bolshevism was even BIGGER government on steroids than fascism was.

Finally, and back to DJT and the assassination attempt … they say that a picture is worth a thousand words. I think I could safely bet the farm that DJT’s perseverance and open defiance against this assassination attempt and leftists in general just won him the 2024 Presidential election. Godspeed to the shooting victims, to the dead patriotic retired fire chief, and to their surviving family.
